Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Rem-ember is a place to learn about lucid dreaming, keep a private dream journal, and talk with other dreamers. We take your privacy seriously, especially your journal, which is some of the most personal writing a person can do. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, why, and what control you have. It is not legal boilerplate written to hide things.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you create an account. We use it to sign you in (we email you a one-time code or link) and, only if you opt in, to send you our newsletter.
- Your username, which you choose. This is public, it appears next to anything you post in the community forum.
- Your dream journal entries. These are private. They are stored so that only your account can read them. We do not read them, sell them, or share them.
- Your forum posts and comments. These are public by design, that is the point of a community board.
- Your newsletter preference (on or off), which you can change at any time.
We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not sell your data to anyone. Ever.
How your journal stays private
Your dream entries are protected at the database level, not just hidden in the interface. The database is configured so that a request can only ever return entries belonging to the account that is signed in. Even we, as operators, treat your journal as off-limits except where strictly necessary to run or repair the service.
Who helps us run the site
We use a small number of trusted providers to operate Rem-ember. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase hosts our database and handles secure sign-in.
- Cloudflare hosts and delivers the website.
- An email provider sends your sign-in codes and, if you opt in, the newsletter.
Cookies and local storage
When you sign in, we store a session token in your browser so you stay logged in. That is functional, not tracking. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your rights and choices
- See or export your data. You can view your journal any time you are signed in, and you can ask us for a copy of your data.
- Delete your account. Ask us and we will delete your account and your journal entries. Public forum posts may be anonymized or removed on request.
- Unsubscribe. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe, and you can turn the setting off in your account.
Children
Rem-ember is not intended for anyone under 16. Please do not create an account if you are younger than that.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to tell account holders.
